Black Myth Wukong What is Black Myth: Wukong
Wukong: Black Myth is one of the most visually stunning games I’ve ever seen. I absolutely love that it’s inspired by the classic 16th-century Chinese novel Journey to the West. In anticipation of the game’s August release, this video offers a brief introduction to the lore of Sun Wukong, the Monkey King, the main character we’ll be playing. Journey to the West begins with the birth of a stone monkey, created from an ancient rock.

it soon becomes apparent that the stone monkey is no ordinary primate he is imbued with extraordinary strength intelligence and fighting prowess and he is declared to be the monkey king among his Simeon subjects but his time passed on monkey Curtis spawned about the reality of one day dying and he wished to escape the fate of his mortal life so he embarked on a journey to obtain immortality after years of searching he finally meets patriarchy and monkey becomes his disciple his new master teaches him the secret formula to mortality along with bestowing to him a new name sun Wu Kong Master Sivodi also teaches him 72 transformations and spells that will aid monkey in his giving death in black myth wukong .
As Sun Wukong grew more powerful, defeating every obstacle in his path, his thirst for power also intensified. His arrogance and recklessness drew many complaints, and the Jade Emperor, ruler of Heaven, soon learned of his behavior. The Jade Emperor and his emissaries decided that the best way to keep Sun Wukong out of trouble was to bring him to Heaven and keep him under close watch. Despite their efforts to meet Wukong’s outrageous demands, he still couldn’t stay out of trouble. After Sun Wukong disrupted the preparations for a royal feast and caused chaos in the heavenly palace, the Jade Emperor finally reached his breaking point.
He sends a celestial army of 100,000 soldiers to arrest the Monkey King, but Wu Kong’s primate infantry easily overpowers them, forcing the heavenly troops to retreat. Following the advice of the Buddhist goddess Guanyin, the Jade Emperor’s nephew, General Erlang, confronts Sun Wu Kong. For the first time in his life, the Monkey King faces a formidable match. In Black Myth: Wukong, Sun Wu Kong is eventually defeated and brought back to heaven for execution. However, by this point, he has achieved five types of immortality, making him immune to all attempts on his life. Sun Wu Kong escapes his final execution and breaks free.

In black myth wukong 3d Aniamtion game he was furious he wrought havoc in an absolute rage upon everyone standing in his way when it becomes clear that monkeys assault is a very real threat to the heavenly deities the Jade Emperor implores the assistance of Buddha to come help after Sun Wukong demands that the jade embers step down south that he may take his place on the throne who does strikes him a deal shed monkey be able to jump off the palm of his hand the throne of Heaven would be his arrogantly laughing at the challenge sun Wu Kang immediately set off to prove
Buddha wrong jumping over 108,000 leagues monkey reached the pillars at the end of the Earth and after leaving evidence of having completed Buddha’s challenge in the most immature voice he returned to demand his new appointment as ruler of Heaven but Buddha Son Wu Kang learns that the arrogant primate never made it further than his middle finger. As he looks down and realizes he has been on the palm of the Buddha’s hand this whole time, the monkey attempts to flee but gets trapped by the Buddha, who has now taken the form of a five-peaked mountain. Son Wu Kang finds himself confined underneath the mountain and imprisoned behind a magical seal for 500 years.
Sun Wukong eventually escapes his imprisonment on the condition that he protects a monk named Schwan Song during their journey to the West Territory for religious scriptures from India. Along the way, the two are joined by the demons Pigsy and Sandy, former dwellers of heaven. From this point, the novel turns into an adventure story, following the four friends as they face various perilous dangers, enemies, and near-death experiences.
The novel ends with Sun Wukong transforming from his violent, mischievous monkey nature. Due to his dedication to Chuang Song and their success in retrieving the scriptures, he earns Buddha-hood. Journey to the West is 100 chapters long, so this is a highly abridged version of the story. However, even in this brief summary, you should now have a clearer understanding of Sun Wukong’s tale. Now, let’s look at some game footage. While I’ll point out a few references to the novel, I believe something strange is happening. Let’s begin with Sun Wukong’s design.
I absolutely love his look. There are so many different versions of Sanbukang in art, media, shows, and movies, so creating a unique version that stands out and feels fresh in Black Myth: Wukong is amazing. The animators and designers really went all out modeling him, and I think he’s beautifully designed. All his outfits are gorgeous, with incredible fabric textures and details. The cool thing about the different attire is that, while it’s a typical game mechanic where armor grants new abilities, it’s also true to the lore—Monkey is described as wearing several different outfits throughout the novel.

I believe this outfit is the one he bullies the Dragon Kings for, featuring a cap with Phoenix blooms at Jane Miller and Cloud Stubbing Shoes. We also see his most iconic weapon, the infamous gold-tipped staff, the Ruyi Jingu Bang. He received this weapon from the Dragon King of the East Sea. Originally, it was a gigantic pillar used to measure the sea’s depth, but when Sun Wukong grabbed it, it magically transformed into a pole small enough for him to wield. He famously shrinks it down to the size of a needle and tucks it behind his ear when not in use.
what we see here happening in this scene in animation for that is justice so cool there’s so many other moments where you get to see more of these transformation abilities and action most famously is probably his duplication ability in which he plucks some of his hair and throws it and shouts change and the hairs turn into perfect replicas of himself that he uses against his enemies and we get to see that spell in action during this fight he also shapeshifts into a beetle
which you can see buzzing around in this scene and in another scene he plucks one of his hairs to turn it into a pen to sign a document and that is actually from the same chapter where Buddha challenges Sun Wu Kong and he signs his graffiti on Buddhist finger using that same transformation technique we see him using the cloudsong ability the spark here that freezes things in place more physical transformations used to subdue enemies and again these are all lower accurate to the original novel so I’m sure we are going to see a lot more of them in the game
but now here is something really interesting you’re in $4002 and gym from a dojan chunk for tonsils nails islanding shall make a junk for the gum bum bolsheeta janju Natha the old juicy fanashi luxa high Orange she owes home I don’t know far shankua touche washes washu into each year holds up the dialogue in this clip seems to imply that we may not really know the true story of turning to the West and our narrator is a very different version of Sun Wu Kong than how he peers in other scenes here he looks younger his fur is dark and lustrous here he seems visibly aged his fur is white and grey and then back to the scene

he has a shaved head and has a couple of malas which are a string prayer beads used in Buddhism to recite scripture comparing these variations of his appearance to the events in the novel it might be a natural conclusion to say that they’re just meant to represent the different significant. His life but there are some significant hints in these clips that make me suspect something is very different from the events in the novel that is taking place and that these variations of Sun Wu Kong might actually be separate entities entirely in this one scene where monkey is about to deliver a finishing blow to this wolf he has stopped by a golden tip staff and this is of course the rejing goubang that
I showed you earlier, and as the camera pans up, we see another Sun Wukong holding it. Now, we have two versions of Sun Wukong in the same scene, confronting each other. This might reference one of the stories in the novel where Sun Wukong meets an impostor identical to him, indiscernible to everyone else. That could be what’s happening here. However, I think this might deviate from the novel because there are two variations of Sun Wukong’s iconic golden headband. This headband was given to Xuanzang to control Sun Wukong’s violent behavior. Xuanzang could recite a spell that would tighten the headband, causing an unbearable headache, as seen in this scene.
Sun Wu Kong is clutching the sides of his head so someone is using the spell while we see the golden headband here with one of its well known designs of the Crescent Moon in the middle in another scene we see the headband in its more iconic design with the little swirls and picking it up and blowing off the dust is our older Sun Wukong these images are just giving me multiverse and different timeline vibes and
In Black Myth: Wukong, I’m really excited to find out why there are two Monkey Kings. Sun Wukong makes the perfect protagonist for an action-adventure game because he’s incredibly overpowered, strong, and constantly outsmarts his enemies. His immortality ties in perfectly with a game where you’ll likely die many times while battling tough bosses, but Sun Wukong just keeps coming back to fight again and again until he finally defeats his foes.
just makes sense from a lore perspective sun Wu Kang is such a mischievous and boisterous and fun character and I’m so excited to have a game revolving all around him I hope you enjoyed this little discussion about the lore of the monkey King and I’m really looking forward to playing the game and making more content about its story if you haven’t yet read journey to the West
I will post a link to a site where you can find many different translations of the novel and I just have to say that it is truly a remarkable piece of literature it is so unbelievably funny and entertaining and it’s incredible to me because this novel is over 400 years old and it’s just as engaging as what you’d read in modern literature today so I really can’t say enough about how excited I am for this game and to experience this story in what is probably my most beloved medium so we await you San Wu Kong thanks for watching the and I will see you next time
